We hired Malia many years ago in Southern California for our exterior landscape lighting. When completed, it was beautiful and very much the envy of our neighborhood. We also used Malia’s services for our interior lighting during a remodel project. After admiring our lighting (both indoors and out) for several years, friends and neighbors were asking for Malia’s contact information.
This is when I sadly discovered that she had left California. I recently purchased a second home in Palm Desert. Although I purchased it furnished, the previous owner removed every lamp! My first reaction was panic. A friend who had previously used Malia’s services for her Colorado home, told me about Malia. She said that Malia could do the lighting design via Face Time and emails. She quickly found lamps that I love, giving me choices within my budget. The lamps reflect my vision of a desert home. We worked on the myriad of recessed lights from 20 years ago. She suggested updating the lightbulbs to a cleaner more efficient look, rather than replacing all the fixtures. I have better light which meets current codes, and I did not have to replace all the fixtures. I can’t say enough about Malia. Dear Malia,
Duane and I want to thank you for the wonderful lighting you created for our home. Because of Duane's special vision and hearing problems you had a real challenge. You met that challenge with flying colors!
The task lighting that was installed, allows Duane to study with plenty of light but without the glare that he is so sensitive to. There was another benefit also. Before, when entertaining our deaf friends it was difficult for Duane to see as they signed. This was terribly embarrassing and frustrating to him. Now the lighting you designed, has made it possible for Duane to see with no problem.
I especially enjoy the the spot lighting on my curio cabinet showing off all my beloved treasures.

Dear Malia:
After having completed a whole house remodel, I must tell you that my favorite upgrade is the lighting. You were a master at knowing just where to place the right lighting for each living space. For example, my kitchen is equipped with ample task lighting which I use for cooking, but with the flip of a few switches (after my quests arrive) the kitchen can instantly become a masterfully lit, mood enhancing entertainment area. The entry hall lighting has given a whole new life to the art work displayed there, that never before had such a dramatic impact. In short, each room is lit just perfectly for its intended use.
Before this project, I did not have a true appreciation for the art and science of lighting. Without your assistance, the final product would have been randomly placed can lighting. Malia did a great job in solving my problem of photo gallery lighting for my home. She asked all the right questions, took the time to research and plan. After eight years of endlessly remodeling our older home, we felt attention needed to be paid to the areas we had neglected and determined low priority. We were paralyzed by the thought of these projects. We quickly realized we needed to address our lighting issues before we could make even simple changes such as paint. We are do-it-yourself people but just could not get a handle on light-ing. We decided to invest in the expertise of a lighting designer and are just thrilled to have found you. The small cost has more than outweighed the benefits. Utilizing your services minimized my fears and ensured I fully understood the options for each space. We do not like making mistakes so reassurance was critical. These previously neglected rooms have experienced amazing transforma-tions. These are now inviting and cheerful spaces which we are drawn to using. I feel like l've added additional square footage to our home and reclaimed unused real estate. The rooms with new lighting look very different, even with the same old furniture! There is an essence of quality, yet I did not replace furishings, change flooring or make any drastic changes. It's hard to articulate the amazing benefits of new lighting. It's a mood. It's a feeling. It creates a sense of wanting to linger in the space.
